My First Living Locket

Hello Dolls!
Yesterday I received my very first Origami Owl Living Locket in the mail! I could not wait to run inside and put it together! I was very pleased with the small pink package that my locket had arrived in. On the box it said “Origami Owl” and “TODAY… happiness HAS FOUND YOU.” I found the saying made the package even more alluring!

When I first opened the box I found a copy of my order, one card saying who had inspected my package, a birthstone card, and the signature O2 take out box.

Next, I opened the turquoise takeout box! Inside I found a fabric fortune cookie, a small box containing my locket, and three baggies holding my charms, chain, and dangles!

I immediately started to put my locket together! I had ordered one Large Silver Locket with Crystals, one Silver 18-20″ Rolo Chain, one Large Rose Gold Plate with the word Inspire on it, one Victorian Key Dangle, and five charms.
The charms I ordered were the Crystal Paw, the Dog, the Scissors, a Round October Birthstone, and the Clear Puffy Heart.

The story I wanted my locket to tell was this. My locket says to me that I strive to inspire others and myself. That I am a dog groomer, and I love what I do. And the pink stone is for my favorite color! The Victorian Key Dangle is to show that all of the charms in my locket are the key to my success! That I must always remember to carry these things close to my heart!

I just can’t wait till it is my turn to become an O2 Designer, and be able to share this amazing company with other women!
Here is my Origami Owl Living Locket. It tells MY STORY. What’s yours?

Designers In Waiting Do’s + Don’ts!

Designers In Waiting Do’s + Don’ts

Hello DIW’s!

I’d like to take a moment to discuss an important issue that my mentor brought to my attention! There are a lot of DIW’s out there who are unaware that there are rules as to what activities you may engage in as a Designer in Waiting. As well as to which activities you should refrain from! It is very important that you know what you can DO and what you CAN’T DO as a DIW. After talking with my mentor I was shocked to find out that I, myself, had too violated O2’s rules. I had posted Origami Owl photos to my personal Facebook page to show off the product, which apparently is NOT permitted as a DIW. I immediately took down the pictures to avoid any issues!

After that I wanted to make sure I spread the word to others! After all, none of us want to cause any issues with the company! We love Origami Owl and can not wait to join them! So, here is a list of Do’s and Don’ts for Designers In Waiting that the company has created for us!

Activities DIW’s MAY Engage In

  • Hosting a party
  • Shadowing a party
  • Hosting a catalog or virtual party
  • Assisting a Designer at an event
  • ADDING TEAM MEMBERS!

DIW’s Need To REFRAIN From

  • Holding shows on their own
  • Representing themselves as Designers
  • Creating business cards
  • Creating Facebook fan pages
  • Booking events in the name of Origami Owl
  • Making media apperances
  • Selling the product
  • Using or advertising Origami Owl media (i.e. pictures, videos)

Ladies please be careful and do not misrepresent your self or the company! Soon enough you will be able to do all of these things as an Independent Designer. Remember it’s worth the wait! Take this time to familiarize your self with the company and the many products Origami Owl offers. And start building your team, you will be thankful you did!

Hope this helps! If you have more information to add please comment below! And if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Origami Owl Designer Care Team (designercare@origamiowl.com).

My First Display Haul

Hello Loves!

Today I’d like to share with you the items I picked up this week for my Origami Owl Display! Like I mentioned in my last post, I did A LOT of Google searching to get  inspiration for how I wanted my O2 Display to look. With that said, I set out with certain items in mind. Personally, I plan to stay with the Origami Owl turquoise and white theme, with pops of pink and yellow and silver accents. But remember, your display is your own and it doesn’t have to be exactly like another designer’s! Be original!

Alright, here we go!

necklaceholder

  • These linen necklace holders were my first purchase.  I bought two of them at Micheal’s for $9.99 each. I have however found them much cheaper on Amazon and Ebay. I will probably order about 3 more.

owlpot

  • I found these adorable little white owl vases at Ross for ONLY $4.99 each! They were just too cute and so cheap I could not pass them up! I bought two of these!

owlpots

  • This is how the owl vases look after I gave them a little upgrade! I bought two “things” of flowers from Michael’s to dress them up and add a little color. The flowers were originally $7.99 a piece, on sale for 50% off so I paid $7.99 for both!

mirror

  • I purchased this mirror at Ross as well for $9.99.  Not sure if I will keep it for my display, or try to find a silver version. Either way its simple and cute!

photo

  •  I found this adorable bodice at Homegoods! It will be perfect to showcase my lockets! I bought this item for $12.99. I hope to find two more like it!

jewelrytree

  • Another treasure I found at Homegoods was this elegant spinning necklace organizer! It will be perfect for holding my chains! And what a steal it was, ONLY $7.00 on clearance! Too bad there wasn’t two!

flowers

  • Last but not least, I picked up three of these adorable daisy bunches! They were on clearance at Michael’s for like $2.79 a piece! Not sure exactly what I’ll use them for but I’m a sucker for flowers!!

(I also purchased the turquoise and white chevron fabric from Hobby Lobby. I believe it was $6.99 a yard and 40% off!)

I hope you guys found this helpful! Feel free to comment below with suggestions on where to find more items for our display tables! I will have more items to post about soon! Good Luck!

Your Origami Owl Display

Hello Dolls!

So, as many of you already know there isn’t a whole lot of things we can do as DIW’s with Origami Owl.  I know, I know the wait is hard but just remember that it will all be worth it in the end!  There are, however,  a few things you can benefit from now while waiting! First is to start recruiting NOW! It is NOT too early to be building your team! I have heard from many Designers that if there is one thing they could go back and do it would be to start building their teams as DIWs! (I will post more about that later)..

The second thing you can do is, start gathering items for your display! This way once you receive your O2 starter kit you will be ready and open for business that very same day!  You will be using your O2 display at Jewelry Bars, Events, Craft Shows, Fairs so you want to make sure it’s eye catching and alluring! And the best part is, you don’t have to break the bank to have a gorgeous display! I did a lot of Google searches when trying to decide how I should set up my display table, and what items I would need.  I recommend you do this as well! Find a few examples of displays that you like, and use them as your inspiration.

I know as impulsive women our first thought is to run right out and buy everything at once! But DON’T! Ladies you are most likely going to be on the waiting list for at least a month or two, so take your time! Remember this.. hobbies cost money, businesses make money! Don’t start your new business in debt! Make a wishlist of items you need and want.  This will prevent unnecessary purchases!

Before you even go out to any store or start buying items online, take a good look around your house! Is there anything laying around that could be used in your display? If so use it! This is going to save you money! Also, check out some yard sales, flea markets and auctions! You can find some great deals this way!

Okay so now your thinking, “Where on earth am I going to find things for my O2 Display?”.  There are so many places to find useful things for your display you just have to know what your looking for!   Here’s a list of places I personally suggest!

Craft stores~ Hobby Lobby, Michael’s

Superstores~ Target, Walmart

Discount Stores~ Homegoods, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Ross

Websites~ Amazon, EBAY

Alright, so once you have all the items for your O2 Display, practice setting up your table! Play around with it until you find what works best for you! There is no wrong way to do this! It’s all based on personal style! Just remember that the company kindly asks us to keep our displays the signature O2 colors turquoise and white. You can also accent with pops of pink!

I hope that this has helped some of you with your displays! If you have anything to add please don’t hesitate to comment below with your ideas or tips! And if you have any questions let me know! I’ll be sure to help you out!
